About us

From Methoni with passion

"With a strong focus on exclusivity and quality, meeting the highest standards."

Lina’s Productions aims to produce, sell, and distribute Greek sustainable extra virgin olive oil and regional products through a short supply chain. This is achieved exclusively through the use of local people and resources, with a strong emphasis on exclusivity and quality in accordance with the highest standards.

After careers in the chocolate industry and high-end fashion, Eric and Hilde Van Tichelen-Verstappen set out in 2023 to pursue a new challenge in the food sector.

In Methoni, they acquired an olive grove, which they transformed into a beautiful estate featuring an authentic spitaki(traditional Greek house). (1)

In the summer of 2025, the first olive oil was launched under the brand name LinArtis. (2)

Shortly after, the product range was expanded to include marmalades, olive pastes, olives, spoon sweets, pine honey, and various other products.

More recently, they introduced a skin cream based on extra virgin olive oil, beeswax, and Mediterranean herbs—an effective solution for caring for dry and damaged skin.

Facts about olive oil

The Golden Liquid

"Greeks consume approximately 13 liters of olive oil per year"

Few things are more Greek than olive oil. Homer referred to it as “the golden liquid,” and Hippocrates treated his patients, among other things, with olive oil. In ancient times, winners of the Olympic Games were awarded an olive wreath and a jar of olive oil.

Today, olive oil remains an essential part of daily Greek life and is one of the country’s main export products.

Olive oil contains natural antioxidants and a high percentage of healthy unsaturated fats. It is also rich in important vitamins such as E and K. Olive oil provides natural protection against heart disease, cancer, and inflammation.

Olive oil in Greece today
Greek olive oil is among the best on the market. Most of it is produced in the Peloponnese and on Crete. No less than 80% of Greek olive oil is classified as extra virgin olive oil. Greeks consume approximately 13 liters per year—more than any other country.

Types of olive oil

Olive oil comes in a wide range of qualities.
There are three main categories: 1. Virgin olive oil: highly suitable for consumption. 2. Blended or refined olive oil: also suitable for consumption. 3. Olive pomace oil: not suitable for consumption.

1. Virgin olive oil
This oil is produced exclusively through cold extraction, in a way that does not alter the oil’s chemical structure. This results in the purest product, with minimal processing and the best flavor.
Within this category, there are two types:

- Extra virgin olive oil: offers a superior, more complex taste and aroma, with a very low acidity level of up to 0.8%.

- Virgin olive oil: lower in taste and aroma compared to extra virgin, with an acidity level of up to 2%.

2. Refined olive oil
This category includes oils that have been processed. During this process, some of the beneficial components are removed, and the oil loses part of its flavor and color. In supermarkets, these are often labeled as “light,” “pure,” or “refined.” They contain fewer antioxidants and more trans fats than extra virgin olive oil.

3. Olive pomace oil
This is a by-product of olive oil production and was historically used as fuel for oil lamps.
